Abstract
Because the material is the essence of the creative process, the designer uses it to implement his creative ideas and embody them on the ground, by dealing well with its characteristics and capabilities to reach its aesthetics that enable him to reach his innovations and formulate new artistic ideas. Therefore, the research revolves around one of the most important issues of contemporary art, which is the trend of synthesis, examining the concepts and intellectual contents of it, and the philosophy of experimentation and synthesis between materials, to contrast the intellectual and aesthetic concepts that the contemporary artist helped address as a kind of development and change in the concept of traditional relief sculpture. The research also reviews the nature of Collective art and how it can be used to come up with different plastic
Research problem: How can we benefit from the methods of synthesis and assembly between industrial and natural materials with different characteristics to enrich the aesthetic value of prominent sculptural works in light of modern artistic trends?
Research Objectives: The research paper aims to 1. Creating innovative aesthetic values and formulations for prominent sculptural works. 2. Reaching different plastic concepts by using the methods of synthesis and assembly between different materials and its impact on changing the concepts and methods of formation for relief sculpture.
Importance: 1.The research contributes to enriching the field of relief sculpture through the development of performing techniques and methods. 2.The research helps in finding new artistic concepts and values in the field of contemporary relief sculpture.
Research hypotheses: The research assumes that 1. Materials that have characteristics and a formal nature different from traditional materials can provide plastic formulations and methods that enrich the field of artistic expression for prominent sculptural works. 2. Innovative plastic formulations can be created that enrich the field of relief sculpture by using the method of assembling and synthesising materials with different characteristics.
Research Methodology: The research follows the descriptive analytical approach represented in the theoretical side, and Experimental and applied approach: by developing innovative designs using wire and some other materials inspired by ancient Egyptian art and Coptic art, and applying them with second year students in the Department of Sculpture, Architectural Formation and Restoration at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Damietta University..
Results: Through theoretical and applied study, the following can be concluded: The sculptor’s use of multiple materials indicates that he is always searching for everything that serves his artistic work. The sculptor’s exploitation of the materials provided by his environment is evidence of his complete desire to develop his skills and capabilities in order to achieve his creative vision. Combining materials with different characteristics added a kind of diversity to the sculptural work in terms of texture and colors, resulting in a sculptural work of aesthetic value. Using the materials required by the environment in scrap sculpture, enriching the work with formal and innovative compositions. Different artistic trends push the search for new plastic treatments for materials that are compatible with the creative idea.
