Design Process Procedure and its Impact Interior Design Problems Solution
2Lecturer, Interior Design and Furniture Department, Faculty of Applied Arts, 6th of October University
Abstract
The concept of design thinking is gaining worldwide attention as a method to tackle challenges and issues, leading to the discovery of opportunities for creativity and innovation. This approach is highly effective in problem-solving and empowers designers to trust in their creative skills. Design Thinking has become a crucial factor in the competitiveness of design products in various fields of science. It is based on a thorough understanding of the problem and is a process deeply rooted in scientific thinking, with creativity playing a vital role at every step. Design Thinking is a methodical approach to creative problem-solving that starts with the user and culminates in innovative solutions tailored to meet user needs. It involves the application of rational, logical, and critical thinking to generate inventive ideas. The process is structured into stages aimed at achieving specific objectives by organizing ideas, analyzing issues, finding specialized solutions, and studying the designer's thought process to enhance the design process. The research seeks to emphasize the significance of design thinking and its stages as the basis of the design process, enhancing the designer's capacity to develop solutions through logical decision-making. The utilization of mental maps in the design process is highlighted as a technique to reach logical conclusions. The research problem revolves around inquiries regarding the impact of design thinking processes on solving design issues, the adherence of interior designers to these processes, and the enhancement of the design process through considerations of the purpose, audience, and requirements of the design. The study concludes with a survey to evaluate the effectiveness of design procedures and stages in resolving interior design problems. Problem Statement: How can design thinking processes contribute to solving interior design problems? What will the interior design complications and problems look like in the future? Objectives: The study aims to clarify the stages of the design process and emphasize its role in solving design problems, it also initiate a survey that attempt to determine the effectiveness of using design procedures . Significance: The study an organized procedure that may contribute to the success of design in practice. Methodology: The study follows both; the inductive approach and a descriptive survey approach Results: The study confirmed that the procedures of the design process help to solve problems through the following points: collecting data and identifying needs, Idea development, Selection, and Evaluation. The survey concluded that Design procedures and floral maps are an effective way to teach design and its solutions that have the effect of developing a guide and a guide to modern trends and design theories . The rapid development of digital technologies and the generation of ideas must be well trained to keep up with it and prepare for it
