The Impact of Environmental Adaptation and Nature-Inspiration on Sustainable Interior Design
Lecturer at Faculty of Arts and Design, Décor Department, Pharos University, Alexandria, Egypt,
Abstract
The research sheds light on the relationship between environmental adaptation, sustainability, and interior design, with a focus on the importance of embracing environmental principles for designing environmentally friendly and sustainable interior spaces. The study addresses the principles of nature-inspired interior design and its significance. It also examines modern applications of nature-inspired and environmentally compatible interior design. The research faces several challenges, including the need to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable and environmental interior design and to motivate effective adoption of these principles by designers and project owners. Another challenge is the scarcity of practical solutions for nature-inspired interior design that achieves environmental adaptation. Additionally, this research aims to provide an insightful perspective in the field of environmental science to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle. It follows a descriptive-analytical approach, describing and analyzing the impact of environmental adaptation on nature-inspired interior spaces, its importance, and implementation methods. The research concludes by presenting practical examples of the impact of environmental adaptation and nature-inspired design on sustainable interior spaces. Among its key findings is the essential nature of environmental adaptation and sustainable interior design, as they contribute to reducing carbon footprint in buildings and improving occupants'' quality of life. Recommendations include providing knowledge to designers, promoting awareness of environmental and human standards, and clarifying effective implementation in interior design practices
