Using Marvelous designer software to compare some methods of Constructing digital pattern for women's trousers
The idea of the research is to try to take advantage of 3D software technology (Marvelous Designer12) in comparing some methods for constructing a digital pattern of women’s trousers and measuring their fit to the Egyptian body. Four methods were identified for comparison (Winifred Aldrich, Bunka, Fernando Burgo and Antonio Donnanno). The research follows the descriptive analytical method and the quasi-experimental method, where the size of the mannequin attached to the program was initially modified according to the table of Egyptian measurements for women (size 46). Then construct women’s trousers pattern on the program using the four methods separately, then simulate the patterns on the mannequin and measure the level of fit of the patterns during the movement and stop of the mannequin using the fitting maps attached to the program. A rating scale was prepared to evaluate the patterns by specialists in the field of clothing and textiles (faculty members in colleges of home economics and corresponding colleges and workers in the ready-made clothing industry), and the results of the research revealed the best method of the Bunka method in terms of fit and suitability to the Egyptian body during movement and stop, followed by the Aldrich method. Then Borgo, then the Donano method., it is recommended to use the Bunka method to construct the women's trousers pattern in the industrial and academic fields, taking into account the deletion of the amount of ease in the waist line to achieve a higher level of adjustment and fit.
