Abstract
The reluctance to take the appropriate decision for students in the secondary stage, whether it is choosing a branch of study or a university major, which entails choosing the appropriate future job, is considered one of the most prominent problems facing students at this stage in all societies, due to the confusion, hesitation, uncertainty, and ambiguity that accompanies it (Shalabi, 2018). It has been observed that most of the female secondary school students are confused about the job that is good for them, and given the problem of unemployment that causes confusion among some female students regarding the job they wish to choose (Samuel Asare Amoah et al., 2015), especially in light of the transition to what is known as the “green economy”, which the world is heading towards nowadays by spreading and creating the so-called “green jobs”, which are one of the outcomes of the green economy (Achi; Metlef, 2011).Out of this point of view, and out of the realization of the importance of psychological counseling in the proper scientific, psychological, social and professional guidance and preparation to meet the contemporary challenges, and to keep pace with professional and global changes and developments, and in view of the creation of new future jobs that ensure the transition towards a greener economy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and address its environmental problems, the researcher found an urgent need to identify the role played by psychological counseling in promoting the orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate.objectives: 1. Identifying the correlation between psychological counseling in promoting orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate. 2. Determining the level of psychological counseling for secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate. 3. Determining the level of orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate. 4. Identifying the differences in the level of psychological counseling among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate that are attributed to the personal variables (age, school year). 5. Identifying the differences between secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate towards promoting the future green jobs that are attributed to the personal variables (age, school year). Research methodology: The research used the analytical descriptive methodology, which depends on the study of the phenomenon as it exists in reality, and is concerned with its description accurately, and expressing it qualitatively or quantitatively. The qualitative expression describes the phenomenon and explains its characteristics, while the quantitative expression gives a numerical description that shows the amount or size of this phenomenon and the degree of its connection with other phenomena (Obeidat et al., 2012).Research key results:1. There is a high level of psychological counseling among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate out of the point of view of the study sample members, where the arithmetic mean value was 1.719 with a standard deviation of 0.386, which answers the second question of the study. 2. There is a high level of orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate out of the point of view of the study sample members, where the arithmetic mean value was 1.761 with a standard deviation of 0.364, which answers the third question of the study. 3. There is a statistically significant correlation between the psychological counseling level variable and the orientation level variable towards the future green jobs at 0.01 which shows the validity of the first hypothesis of the study and this relationship was direct which shows that there is a role for psychological counseling in promoting the orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate, where it became clear that the higher the level of psychological counseling, the higher the level of orientation towards the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate. 4. There are no differences in the level of psychological counseling among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate that were attributed to personal variables (age, school year) at 0.05 level of significance . 5. There are no differences in the level of orientation towards promoting the future green jobs among secondary school students at Jazan Education Directorate, that were attributed to personal variables (age, school year) at 0.05 level of significance .
