Abstract
Design Ergonomics has got an increased attentiveness in Egypt through the past two decades. The evaluation of the design of all equipment and facilities of tailoring workplaces in a number of published articles in the past few years. This paper aims at establishing a criteria for use in the design of tailoring cutting tables and alike.Based on the examination of aspects of the requirements of the detailing and human aspects of the table. No effort has been proven to identify such criteria for the design for the Egyptian population. All standards that could be traced are for European or American populations making them impossible for application in the design process with Egyptian tailors and fashion designers in consideration. The study ends with a given criteria and specification for a suggested cutting table. The evaluation has been carried out through a questionnaire covering all stated elements.It can provide convenience to users in order to perform the tasks required of them with efficiency, satisfaction and the least effort, thus increasing production rates and improving the quality.
