Abstract
The world is witnessing rapid advancements in digital technology, which have directly impacted military industries, particularly in the development of weapons and ammunition systems. Digital imaging has emerged as one of the most prominent technologies, becoming an essential tool in the design, testing, and upgrading of modern combat systems. This research aims to explore the growing role of digital imaging technologies in enhancing targeting accuracy, improving operational efficiency, and reducing collateral damage during military operations.
The study focuses on analyzing how high-resolution cameras, optical sensors, and digital image processing are employed in the development of smart munitions and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It also examines the role of artificial intelligence algorithms in interpreting imagery and identifying targets with high precision, as well as their use in surveillance, tracking, and battlefield monitoring.
Moreover, the research highlights the direct impact of these technologies in enhancing the operational capabilities of weapon systems under complex environmental and weather conditions, through the use of thermal imaging and night vision technologies.
The study is based on an analysis of recent defense system models that integrate digital imaging technologies, along with a discussion of the associated technical and security challenges. The research concludes by identifying future trends in the development of these applications and their potential impact on shifting the balance of military power, while emphasizing the importance of integrating digital technology with defense industries in the modern era.
