Abstract
Abstract
Augmented Reality (AR) is not a new technology, but its adoption has historically been limited due to both technical constraints and a lack of clear purpose. However, with advancements in supporting technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), AR has become more practical and accessible. Today, AR holds great potential to enhance user experiences by overlaying digital information onto the physical world, making interactions more immersive and contextually relevant. Yet, the effectiveness of AR depends heavily on thoughtful user experience (UX) design. A powerful technology alone cannot guarantee user engagement unless the experience is intuitive, useful, and enjoyable. As smartphones and wearable devices have rapidly evolved, they have paved the way for widespread integration of AR in various domains—including education, entertainment, marketing, and services. These developments have redefined the design of digital applications, placing greater emphasis on creating engaging and meaningful user interactions. Designing for AR requires balancing technical capabilities with human-centered design principles to ensure that users are not overwhelmed or confused. The fusion of physical and virtual realities presents both opportunities and challenges in UX design. As a result, exploring the role of AR in shaping user experience has become a vital area of study. Understanding how AR influences user behavior, satisfaction, and engagement can inform better design strategies and drive innovation in digital applications. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating UX design into AR development to create impactful, user-centered experiences that fully leverage the technology’s potential.
