Abstract
Drones have become an essential tool for achieving creative shots from unconventional angles, enriching the visual language with their dynamism that resonates with the audience. The importance of this research stems from its highlighting the growing role of drone cameras in television filming and how this technology has transformed the methods and approaches of visual narrative. The research problem was represented by the need for a deeper understanding of how to effectively employ drone cameras from the perspective of a television director of photography to achieve an innovative and engaging visual experience. This research aims to identify the developments this technology has brought about in the television industry and the development of filming methods. This research relies on a descriptive approach to the aesthetics of drone shots and an analysis of drone shots in the series "Awlad Al Shams." Drone shots were not merely a technical tool, but rather an essential part of constructing the dramatic world of the work, enhancing the visual and emotional aspects. In general, the increasing use of drone cameras reflects the development of television drama production in Egypt and its keeping pace with modern technologies. Drone footage offers a variety of angles, lighting, and movement, as well as flexibility in design. It also adds a visual and dramatic dimension, making viewers more immersed in the events. Researchers recommend choosing appropriate movements and planning ahead before filming, using high-quality equipment and editing software (DaVinci Resolve), and adhering to the regulations and laws related to drone use.
