A study on the impact of using modern technology in designing and producing light paintings (images drawn with light) with an innovative artistic form that imitates the paintings of modern art schools
In most of his directions, the contemporary artist relies on the optimal use of technical capabilities. Technological developments in image production tools have helped develop the art of light painting and achieve new creative styles that express what is inside light painting artists. Therefore, the research problem and the main goal of this study were summarized in the following question: How did modern technology for image production tools help bring out the design vision and artistic form required to obtain plastic light paintings with a new artistic form that imitates the paintings of modern art schools?. Therefore, the researcher followed the descriptive approach to introduce the art of light painting, its early beginnings, its most prominent artists, the most important equipment used in light painting, the relationship of photography to modern schools of fine art, and a description of modern techniques for image production tools and their impact on the form of images drawn with light. The researcher also followed the experimental approach in drawing a number of light paintings using a variety of modern photography and lighting tools in an attempt to achieve his own vision of producing light paintings with an innovative artistic form that imitates the paintings of modern art schools. The researcher has concluded through experiments that photography has influenced and been influenced by modern schools of fine art, and that the relationship between technology and creativity is a mutual relationship. Technological developments in image production tools have led to the development of the art of drawing with light and the achievement of new creative styles. Modern digital cameras such as the SONY A7R III camera have helped on the appearance of light and color gradations in painted light paintings, in addition to providing the Bulb mode, which allows achieving a long exposure time, until the light drawing process is completed. Also, the diversity of colours, shapes and sizes of LED lighting sources helped to give the color shades, appearance and effect required for the drawn shape and control the drawing of shapes accurately, One of the most important results of the research is the photographer’s understanding of the techniques that contribute to achieving his personal vision of producing light paintings that imitates the paintings of modern art schools, which helped in the emergence of an innovative artistic direction for the art of painting with light, which had a huge impact on the development of artistic photography and opened new horizons for creativity.
