Abstract
The art of embroidery is one of the oldest and most sophisticated arts known to man since the beginning of the Pharaonic era. It has been closely linked to clothing and furnishings to enrich the embroidered pieces and add aesthetic, utilitarian and economic value. Research problem: The research problem can be defined in the following questions: Did the combination of hand and machine embroidery stitches contribute to the development of sweatshirt decorating patterns? Is it possible to combine some machine and hand embroidery stitches? What is the effect of combining some machine and manual embroidery stitches on enriching the aesthetics of the sweatshirt? What are the opinions of specialists on pieces executed in both methods of embroidery (manual and machine)? Importance of the research: The importance of the current research is due to: Enriching the sweatshirt industry among specialists and those interested in the field of embroidery through the combination of manual and machine embroidery on sweatshirts 2- Activating the role of home economics in serving and developing society 3- Contributing to solving the unemployment problem by creating job opportunities for graduates4 - Contributing to creating ideas for young people suitable for a small project. Research objectives: The research aims to enrich the aesthetics of sweatshirts by combining some manual and machine embroidery stitches - developing decorative patterns in youth clothing by combining manual and machine embroidery stitches - measuring the degree of acceptance by specialists for embroidered designs in enriching the aesthetics of sweatshirts. Research results: The study found statistically significant differences between the five executed pieces at a significance level of 0.01. We find that piece “2” was the best piece in achieving the design elements according to the opinions of specialists, and piece “3” was the best piece in achieving the foundations of design according to the opinions of specialists. Piece “4” was the best piece in achieving the functional aspect, according to the opinions of specialists, and Piece “5” was the best piece in achieving the aesthetic aspect, according to the opinions of specialists.
