Abstract
he research deals with the role of jewellery design in psychological support for cancer patients, especially breast cancer patients, by designing a training program for jewellery design, using the design thinking approach in designing the training program because it is a systematic and short-step approach (only five steps for the design process) that is suitable for principles. The training program includes: design and colors, taking into account the basic principles of jewellery design, as well as practical implementation with metal wire and stones, simplified wire formation, metal coloring experiment, and lost wax casting. implementation. This was done through the production of a number of pieces of jewellery made by the research sample of their design and implementation, in cooperation with the Scientific Research Center at Baheya Hospital for Breast Cancer Treatment in Al-Haram, where the research sample was chosen, which is 13 women from breast cancer patients. The research adopts two approaches: the descriptive and analytical approach - the experimental approach, and used tools for measurement, which are the psychological scale specially designed for the research experiment and the opinion poll formed after the program, which explains in detail through specific points the opinion of the sample members in the program and the extent of benefit from it. The results of the research, through the psychological scale, have proven that jewellery design has a significant role in psychological support and community support for cancer patients. And the statistical results of the research showed a positive change in the results of the scale in favour of the post-scale, and thus the research hypotheses were proven correct that art therapy by designing ornaments contributes to the acquisition of artistic skills that help relieve anxiety and tension and distance oneself from thinking about illness., as well as designing ornaments that helps expression and insight into feelings The patient and his thoughts represent a positive way to fill free time. Thus, the research recommended considering the practice of jewellery design as a kind of complementary art therapy
