Abstract
The research deals with how to develop creativity and innovation in children through the practice of visual art, where the child is a national wealth in his society and a mirror of his development. He experiments, explores and innovates freely, without the intervention of adults, until he reaches the stage of creativity. The child’s practice of  visual art makes him an artist who interacts with his sense and his art with his circumstances and searches for non-traditional solutions to solve his problems, and innovates and creates in the visual arts he practices, and accordingly the research problem was formulated in the following question:
Is it possible to take the practice of visual art as a method for developing creativity and innovation in children?
The research aims to prepare a study on the importance of practicing visual art as a method for developing creativity and innovation in children. To reach the aim, the research dealt with the psychology of children’s arts with the aim of analyzing the visual arts produced by the child and benefiting from the results of the analysis to reveal the child’s personality, mood trends, level of intelligence, creative ability, and psyche, adopting these talents and studies and working on their development towards innovation and creativity.
The research also dealt with how the child progresses from the stage of innovation to the stage of creativity during his practice of visual art, and the role of the family and school in guiding the child to practice visual art to develop innovation and creativity, and then it becomes clear the importance of research in helping to develop innovative and creative thinking in children and providing them with experience and experimentation in practicing visual art. The research also contributes to creating a suitable environment for children that enhances their artistic and aesthetic sense. The research assumed that the practice of visual art could be taken as a method for developing creativity and innovation in children. Methodology: The research used the descriptive, analytical and deductive approach, and a proposal was reached to support the practice of visual art to develop children's creativity and innovation. Results: the most important of which are: The child's practice of visual art is considered a kind of focus of attention that helps him to detect and scrutinize research, analysis, observation and develop his perceptions.  Practicing visual art as a method for developing creativity and innovation in children has a great role in occupying and preserving their free time, in addition to developing their artistic and aesthetic sense. Building a child's personality calls for a balanced personality development in terms of developing emotional and mental functions. The child's visual art output reflects his personality, and it is the language through which he communicates with others and conveys his feelings to them, recording his culture, confirming his identity and maker of his civilization
